How to make the perfect Smoothie + 3 Recipes
For me, the perfect smoothie has to be thick, fresh and super chilled. To get that result, you need:
A Base
1 cup of frozen fruits of your choice (why to use ice if you can easily freeze fruit?)
To freeze fruit: freeze your fruit using non sticky paper. Once the fruit pieces are frozen, keep them in the freezer in freezing bags for up to six months.
Liquid
½ cup of liquids (dairy free milk, water, coconut water, juice, etc). I always use the Ratio of 1 cup of fruit and ½ cup of liquid.
Some Super Food
A good smoothie can be a great opportunity to match your daily needs with some super food like flaxseeds, chia, oats, nuts and seeds.
Some Treats
I love to treat myself with some desiccated coconut, granola, agave, dairy free yoghurt or dried fruits.
My Favourite Recipes
* Pina Cola Smoothie
1 cup of frozen pineapple pieces
½ cup of coconut water
1 tablespoon of desiccated coconut
Agave nectar (if needed)
* Silky Papaya and Peach Smoothie
½ cup of frozen Papaya
½ cup of frozen Peach
½ cup of water
1 tablespoon of granola
Topped with yoghurt, granola and agave.
* Red Berries Delight
1/3 cup of frozen strawberries
1/3 cup of frozen blueberries
1/3 cup of frozen raspberries
½ cup of dairy free milk
Agave if necessary
Topped with frozen fruit and desiccated coconut
